Thank you Speech Day Stage Crew 2008

Once again, Speech Day is back in Bowen. It seemed like eons ago that we had one. Once again, I was placed in charge of the stage managing (SIGH!) Come to think of it, ever since I stepped into this school, I have never done any other duty besides Stage on Speech Day! Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to give a BIG BIG thank you to my entire wonderful stage crew this year, both the student crew and the teacher crew, Winston, Ida and Wah Kian for their great help.

The boys I had this year were super enthusiastic as commented by Mdm Lim.
"Where do you usually find such enthusiastic stage crew everytime??"
I think she remembered the previous Stage Crew that I used to have from Sec 4E2, the Ernest-Ivan-Amos-Rongde (Weijie??) Gang :) which were the stage crew that were active when we had the last Speech Day. I had worked with them since they were 'Mr Chua's' when they were in Sec 2!

But this time, the present group is really unique. :)
Never in the history of my 'stage crew' boys would there be 'unhappiness' over 'too little work' being assigned. Before the event last Saturday, I saw two of the boys looking so glum that I had to ask what was wrong. That was when I found out that they were disappointed that they were not given the duties that were assigned. I was really touched by the committment and sense of responsibility of the boys. While the misunderstanding with the 'duties' was quickly and amicably dissolved with the boys, I must really say that with that attitude, this group definitely wins the Most EnThu Stage Crew Award! :)

The Members of the Stage Crew .....

Dominic - who couldn't walk and had to run to do everything
Eugene - who practiced opening and closing the curtain so many times and still can tell Mdm Lim 'I very nervous'
Aloysius - who ensured that all the performers were already 'stood' by before the cue was even given!
Hong Peng, Winston and Jack - who are already 'experienced' Stage Members since their 'Bouncer' days with the Public Performance, that they 'bounced', 'carried' and 'smoked' away during this event as well.

A BIG Thank you to my Stage Crew for being so helpful, having so much initiative and enthusiasm, despite doing such a thankless job. I am truly greatly appreciative of the time and hard work you put in. I hope you had fun as well.

Do you know that my stage crew 'performed' that day in Speech Day as well??!!
(Behind the curtain....after Dance Club... They did a really graceful BALLET!!! hahahahahaha........)

Finally and not the least, thank you to Huiyu and Kishen for looking after the class that day. Thank you to the 4E5 audience who turned up to support the school's Speech Day. I hope you had fun watching the show as well.
